Initiatives to help businesses and workers get through the coronavirus pandemic
Business Support Fund – Expansion
Formerly known as the Local Lockdown Business Support Program, this $5,000 grant was previously made available to the 12 affected postcodes linked to COVID-19 outbreaks but now applies to all areas across metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire to support eligible businesses through the renewed restrictions.
Applications are now open and close on 19 August 2020.

Regional Tourism Accommodation Support Program
This $40 million capped fund provides direct financial support of up to $225 per booking, per night, to support accommodation businesses affected by cancellations due to Stage 3 ‘Stay at Home’ restrictions in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire and state border closures.
Applications are now open until the end of the current Stay at Home restrictions or when funds are exhausted.

CBD Business Support Fund
This ongoing $20 million fund aims to help small businesses in Melbourne’s CBD faced with a large and sustained shock to their trading environments.

This ongoing $30 million dedicated fund aims to help the hardest-hit businesses in hospitality.

Other initiatives include:
- $26 million in mental health support will ensure Victorians dealing with the compounding challenges of running a small business can get the help they need as they navigate their way through the crisis.
- A $10 million business mentoring program, pairing small business owners with experienced professionals who can help them navigate their way through the crisis.
More information regarding these two programs is yet to be announced.
