Eager & Partners has formally joined Factor1. We've worked alongside Factor1 since 2024, and from 1 October 2026 our Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance offices are part of Factor1. Sharing one name makes it simpler to reach the full team, and gives your local team the support of a larger firm when you need it.

Eager & Partners through the times

Between 1948 and 1963, the years preceding Tom Eager's arrival at the firm, an accounting practice had continuously operated in Bairnsdale, East Gippsland through a number of successive predecessor firms.

The firm of today has built on the groundwork and history of these predecessor firms.

Our history at a glance

  1. 1963Wilson Bishop & Henderson of Melbourne (subsequently PKF Australia, then BDO) acquired the practice of W. L. Porch & Co. Tom Eager was appointed Practice Manager, office located at 100 Main Street, Bairnsdale
  2. 1965Tom Eager appointed Partner
  3. 1967Bairnsdale practice of Stephenson & Matthews acquired
  4. 1967-1969Firm relocates to 39 Service Street, Bairnsdale
  5. 1969Ern Lloyd became Partner
  6. 1970Practice purchased by Tom Eager and Ern Lloyd from Wilson, Bishop & Henderson
  7. 1974Bairnsdale office relocated to current premises at 74 Main Street
  8. 1975John Summers became Partner
  9. 1982Name changed to Eager Lloyd Summers
  10. 1986Ern Lloyd and John Summers retired. Robert Zagami became Partner. Name changed to Eager & Partners
  11. 1991John Glynn became Partner. Association formed with RGM Financial Group
  12. 11-Oct-1994Lakes Entrance office opened, initially sharing premises with Engel and Partners
  13. 30-Jun-1995RGM Financial Group ceased as a Partner. Tom Eager retired as Partner, continued as consultant. Rick Bourke became Partner
  14. 1995-2001Purchase of Bruce Davenport fees
  15. 30-Jun-2001John Glynn retired as Partner, continued as consultant
  16. 01-Jul-2003Lakes Entrance office relocated to current premises at Shop 1/271 Esplanade
  17. 2003-2007Purchase of Bruce Sanders fees

Do I need to do anything?

No. If you are an existing client, your accountant, your records and your appointments carry straight over. You do not need to contact us.

Will my accountant change?

No. Your accountant and the team you deal with in Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance are the same. What has changed is our name.

I emailed my usual address. Will it reach you?

Yes. Emails sent to a team member's usual Eager & Partners address will reach them at their new @factor1.com.au address. You can update your contacts whenever it suits you.
